Penarth Galacticos FC

This is Penarth Galacticos.  

They have now disbanded!

The team was formed in 2001 and played in the Lazarou Sunday League.  It was made up of staff from the Taurus Steakhouse and players from Penarth and Grangetown.

Over the years they used 47 players.  They didn't win many games but could discuss the aftermath of many a defeat whilst drowning their sorrows at The Pilot Public house in Penarth under the sniggering eyes of Phil the Landlord, who contributed to their body mass index (BMI) by supplying a sausage and chip butty or two (and by the looks of a few players it may have been several more - Mike "Kanu" Hobbs for example).

To their credit, they participated in a few charity matches every year, and always had a good laugh and enjoyed the spirit of football.
